Situated in the vibrant city of Manchester, The University of Manchester is a forward-thinking red-brick institution with a rich and impressive history. Approached by the Recruitment team to help them realise an idea for two self guided maps, it was this combination of ‘original modern’ that was the concept behind the design solution.
Created for use by prospective students, their guardians and other visitors, each self guided map features quirky yet instantly recognisable hand drawn illustrations of buildings and places, coupled with key information including a synopsis of each location, travel guide and student information. The self guided maps can be used to explore the campus by way of a 1 hour self guided walk or for those wishing to venture further afield, its sister map details key city features to discover and explore.
Integrated with photography and an on-brand visual approach, the self guided maps achieve the balance of meeting brand guidelines and being something a little different… a great way to enhance visits to the campus and city.
